Onderwerp: Coping textbooks at college

Believe it or not, photographing a textbook, which his described here as a legitimate way to deal with being a low income student on a full scholarship, is stealing. It is no different than walking into a shop and walking out with a meal or item you did not pay for. Do you think that the textbook is the not the product of someone's work and effort? Guess what? They don't write themselves. I'm guessing most folks don't think it's okay to steal from a store. Why do you think it's okay to steal intellectual property? The university should ensure that all students get the books they need. Students can even share books with other students or rent books, as is currently possible. But just copying a book and then (as is common) uploading it for others to use is a criminal act. Maybe students won't buy term papers if they have access to all the materials professors required them to study through.
