Hi,
I was job searching with online job websites. I got a bogus offer of employment that contained a phony link which I inadvertently clicked on and am now receiving fake offers of employment by the dozen. To compound things whoever is sending them has managed to mimic genuine employers, employment agencies and job websites very professionally so it is frequently impossible to discern fake from genuine unless one opens the email - which of course more often than not causes even more problems. I have changed my accounts on some of the job websites in case the accounts themselves rather than my email account have been hacked and have also phoned some of the job websites where I believe my account has been hacked and employment agencies that have been mimicked and informed them they may have a security breach - all to no avail. I have also phoned some of the telephone numbers listed in the emails themselves, and tried to check their origin through right clicking and checking 'properties' as well as double checking their validity and the existence of persons listed as employees of the so-called 'interested companies/employment agencies' though google - they are almost always actually numbers associated with genuine companies and actual people so tracing their true origin seems impossible.
I should add that initially clicking on the link also caused some pretty deep-rooted malware to end up on my laptop. Several relaunches of Windows 10 later (each time opening a phony email and/or clicking on a bogus link resulted in more malware ending up on my system) and a new security system later (ESET) I 'm still not even sure my computer is clean.
Any Suggestions?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
