As head of the Beltran Leyva drug trafficking ring until he was arrested in October 2014， her husband was among the 50 most-wanted criminals in the country， said Garcia.
In the 1990s， Hector， along with his brothers Arturo， Alfredo and Carlos， established the Beltran Leyva cartel， trafficking cocaine from South America to Mexico for the U.S. market.
The Beltran Leyvas later formed an alliance with Joaquin ""El Chapo"" Guzman and his Sinaloa Cartel.
